I am looking for contact of any Christian churches in Australia that make it just as easy as they do for other people to get around. For example do they have ramps for wheelchairs, or leval grounds, disabled toilets, wide doors at all times for wheelchairs, is their room made for guide dogs and are they welcome, is communion brought to people who can't walk forward for it, do they have braile for the blind in important places,eg toilet signs etc, do they have a hearing aid loop system or translaters for Auslan {Australian Sign language} and other things like that. Plus most importantly are disabled people made to feel welcome, that they feel just as accepted as everyone else. If you know of any Christian church please let me know with those churches that have been helpful in these or other ways. Please give as much details as possible. How to contact me is on the links page.

Wesley Uniting Church in the City of Perth WA Corner of William and Hay Sts Perth. This church has a ramp at a good angle leading to the front door, as well as steps. The front doors are usually both open making it suitable for a wheelchair to enter. They bring communion{The Lord's Supper} when they have it to people who cant walk to the front to receive it.They have a hearing loop for hearing aids. It has toilets suitable with large room for a wheelchair to turn around in below available by the lift. The only problem seen for people in a wheelchair is that both doors aren't always open to go through to the lift. But people generally help when asked. The congregation are generally friendly towards disabled people and every year, a special service is run by the CrossRoads people [Intelectually hanicapped adults where they take part, See more on them on links page} and each week some of them come along. More details on the church and other Uniting churches in the city by phoning 08 61034222 office hours or at www.perthunitingchurch.com.au Sunday worship is at 10am. In the city of perth there are "beeping sound" crosswalks for the blind and this is at the corner there. Lights outside have been completed and there are both ramps and steps in seperate places. Phone the church for Sunday parking facilities available. They are often open for part of the days during the week to be open for silent prayer and meditation and business cards are available free about this service there to take home and other disability and other services too. It has close access to public transport being in the city and a taxi stand is right next to the church.
Catherine Street Community Salvation Army Corps {Church}
Catherine St is the second Salvation Army church in Morley and is located near The Galleria Shopping Centre, behind John Forrest High School in Unit 4/ 103 Catherine St Morley. The church is in what looks like a set of ordinary business units but in it [right down the far end] you will find a group of compassionate Christians and on Sundays after the Salvo's service is an African speaking church the uses the same building. During the year they run women's ministries and the all popular on Mondays free lunch called Cathie's Kitchen.These have a break over the Christmas/new year period and are not open on public holidays. It doesn't have the traditional Salvation Army band but a small piano/organ. Free bread is available at Cathie's Kitchen to take home. They are on level ground and only a slight bump for a wheelchair or frame. There are no steps. It's not far from The Galleria shopping centre and busport for public transport. They don't have particular disabled toilets but if you can get help out of your wheelchair you should be fine with two uni - sex toilets.Like other Salvation Army churches worldwide they don't condemn ,nor do they practice communion due to tradition related to there long history of helping alcoholics recover from being addicted to alcohol. More information on the activities and times of services etc from the office on 08 93759841.
